Anita Sarkeesian has been a Canadian and American feminist media analyst for more than twenty years. She's also an accomplished public speaker. She is the founder of Feminist Frequency, a site that features videos and comments analyzing the portrayals of females in popular culture. Anita Sarkeesian has been a media critic, blogger and award-winning feminist for nearly 10 years. Feminist Frequency is an educational non-profit website that explores the representations of females in narratives from popular culture. She is committed to deconstructing stereotypes of women as they are depicted in pop culture. Additionally she aims to create awareness about online harassment targeted at women and marginalized groups of people. Sarkeesian, who holds an MA in Political and Social thought in the field of social and political thought from York University, is a popular public speaking. She has delivered speeches at the TEDxWomen festival as well as United Nations Broadband Working Group to Gender. Since her early years Sarkeesian was captivated by issues of gender identity and feminist thought. As a student, in 2009, she created her Feminist Frequency website. The determined lady had planned to start a web-based series that would examine gender-based representations in video games. However, she ended up being the victim of a harassment online campaign. The attack did have been a hindrance, rather it was a boost to her determination as a feminist media critic.
