Mena Alexandra Suvari (born on 13 February 1979) is an American actress fashion designer and model. Shortly after beginning her career as a model she soon transitioned into acting after appearing as a guest on 90's show on TV, such as Boy Meets World and High Incident. Her film debut came in the 1997 drama film Nowhere. Then, in American Beauty and American Pie the actress gained more recognition for her performances. After that, she starred in Loser (2000) together with American Pie co-star Jason Biggs and was later the main role in the comedy film Sugar & Spice (2001). She had appearances in the independent 2002 drama Spun and the 2004 horror feature Trauma. In 2004, she appeared on HBO's drama Six Feet Under. She received nominations for the Screen Actors Guild Award 2005 for her role in the Outstanding Ensemble. In 2008, Suvari was cast for a number of films which included Day of the Dead The Mysteries of Pittsburgh and the movie adaptation of The Garden of Eden. Suvari is a model for Lancome cosmetics as well as print ads in the brand's Lancome Paris Adaptive also has been featured in several fashion-related blogs as well as magazines such as Vogue. She is a long-time supporter and advocate for the renowned African relief organization, the African Medical and Research Foundation. The organization is also active in women's empowerment issues as well as working with other organizations to help raise awareness about breast cancer as well as The End Violence Against Women Campaign.
